IPC Para-Nordic World Cup 2017 in Canmore

The Alberta World Cup Society is excited and proud to announce that Canmore will host the International Paralympic Committee Para-Nordic World Cup on December 7-18, 2017.

With over 100 of the world’s best para-athletes, this international world-class event will take place at the world-renowned Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park.

Para-Nordic skiing is a sport for participants with physical impairment (classified in three categories – sitting, standing and athletes with visual challenges). Most athletes compete in both cross country and biathlon races. This IPC event is a major stepping stone for Canada’s Paralympic athletes as they prepare for the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Volunteers
Volunteering for this event is one of the best ways to get a front-row seat to the action, and contribute to the event’s success at the same time! No experience necessary. If you have any questions about volunteering for the 2017 Canmore WPNS World Cup in Canmore, please email skilinda@shaw.ca

The AWCS has successfully hosted FIS Cross-Country World Cups in 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, and most recently the Ski Tour Canada 2016. In December 2013, the AWCS hosted the 2013 IPC Para-Nordic World Cup. We want the 2017 IPC Para-Nordic World Cup to be even bigger and better – and we need your help!
